Filip Zangi & PURPUR

My name is Filip Zangi and I am a Czech drummer, percussionist and RnB music producer, based in Prague. My heart beats for the African-American concept of music such as FUNK, DISCO, RnB etc. In the Czech Republic, where I was born and where I also live, there are unfortunately very few bands of this genre. That's why I started my own band in 2016 called Filip Zangi & PURPUR. 

On our recordings features guests from world-class musicians, such as Ashley Slater - the singer of the band Freak Power, Dean Brown - guitarist  of Marcus Miller, D. Sanborn, E.Clapton, Billy Cobham etc. or bassist Juraj Griglák, who has a band with Poogie Bell. Our tracks were also recorded by prominent funk instrumentalists of the Czech music scene such as keyboard player and producer Roman Holý who cooperated with Fred Wesley, Mike Stern, Hiram Bullock, Dennis Chambers, Glenn Huges etc. 

The band performed active concerts in various band casts until 2020. Now I have decided to revive the project again after 4 years off, with a new cast, new tracks and new show.
